For the Elbjazz Festival in Hamburg, John lived for a week on the MS Stubnitz — the former fishing vessel turned floating cultural venue — creating musical animations projected onto the ship.

The ship lay in Hamburg harbour during the festival, and the hull was the projection surface. Projection mapping tailors the content to the geometry of the object it is projected onto, so that the surface itself appears to move.
